Visit Korea without a Visa for Filipinos

Last year, I booked a flight to San Francisco from Hong Kong with a 14.5 hours lay-over in South Korea. That is a loooong time to stay just in the airport!

I searched the internet and stumbled to this: Transit tourists bound for another country

So, YES! We as Filipinos can visit Korea without a tourist visa if we meet the two conditions set below. Please take note that both conditions should be meet.

CONDITION # 1

Hold a valid visa (re-entry permit, permanent residency, etc.) to the following countries:
  • USA (including Guam and Saipan)
  • Canada
  • Australia
  • New Zealand

CONDITION #2

Either of these two:

1) Transit through Korea to go to one of the four advanced countries.

To be eligible, a confirmed ticket to any of the countries above within 30 days from South Korea is required.

2) Stay in one of the four countries and take a direct flight from the country to Korea to go to a country of origin or a third country.

To be eligible, should stay at least three days in any of the countries above before flight to Korea.

Hope this blog helps to anyone planning to transit through South Korea! Love lots!
